What are the options for financing its decarbonisation?
During this roundtable, we will launch our new publication: “Czech hard-to-abate industry: What are the options for financing its decarbonisation”. The research report focuses on the investment needs for decreasing emissions from the steel, cement, and chemical sectors in line with the Fit for 55 (FF55) goals, while exploring the available financing options.
Which policies are needed to mobilise private capital for industry decarbonisation?
How did the supply chain and energy crisis impact decarbonisation momentum in Czech hard-to-abate sectors? What can we expect in 2023 and 2024?
What role will public financing play, and which private financing tools can support decarbonisation?
What to expect from the European Commission in the next year or two, and what will be the implications for business from changes to EU ETS and introduction of CBAM?
13:30 – 14:30 | Sustainability in practice
Solutions for implementation, risk mitigation & financial health

Pathway for CEE companies to Fit for 55
This special roundtable discussion on the “Decarbonisation of the chemical industry” is part of our long-term efforts in finding ways to finance the decarbonisation of hard-to-abate industries in the CEE region and in Europe. Our research is focused on answering the following questions:
Which decarbonisation technologies are available for chemical industry decarbonisation?
What level of investment is needed to decarbonise the chemical industry?
Which European funds are available for industry decarbonisation?
Which European policies are needed to unlock private capital?
Are there any sustainable finance tools available for decarbonisation, or can they be used effectively for decarbonisation projects?
