SUSTAINABILITY IN BUSINESS
1 - PACT Product Carbon Footprints Challenge with a View of New EU Ecodesign, Digital Product Passport and Review of GHG Protocol Standards

Organised in collaboration with the Czech Business Council of Sustainable Development (CBCSD), this high-level session aims to unite key stakeholders from the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MIT), the Ministry of Environment (MoE), the Ministry of Regional Development (MoRD), the Ministry of Finance (MoF), and the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic (TAoCR), alongside representatives from financial institutions and experts from real economy sector and private sector organisations. The objective of the session is to align invited stakeholders on the key challenges posed by GHG product emission accounting standards for sustainability reporting under Scope 3 of the GHG Protocol and related new decarbonisation instruments currently under development in the EU and outline a potential implementation roadmap, governance and ecosystem for Czechia in the respect. The discussion will focus, against the backdrop of the selected current Czech, EU and global projects to develop this topic, on potential ways how to move this agenda in Czechia forward.
The global WBCSD standard PACT Pathfinder will be introduced alongside changes in the EU framework regarding in particular the EU ecodesign for sustainable products, associated digital product passports, CBAM and the review process of the GHG Protocol standards currently being undertaken by the WBCSD and WRI. The role of these changes for competitiveness of the Czech economy and effective management of material climate mitigation risks of real economy, financial sector and public sector in Czechia will be explored.
Key topics to be addressed include:
· Global standards for product emission accounting and Scope 3 GHG reporting: Exploring its role in sustainability reporting and use in decarbonisation and access to capital against the ongoing review of the GHG Protocol standards
· EU Ecodesign for Sustainable Products, Digital Product Passports and envisaged changes in public procurement: Utilising them as tools for advancing competitiveness of the Czech industry.
· Incentivising Czech industry and facilitating real economy and financial sector efforts: Strategies to motivate transparency in product carbon footpring and condition for creating an effective enabling environment in Czechia.
This session offers a platform for open dialogue on collaborative mechanisms that can accelerate building transformations and contribute to a sustainable future for the real estate market.

Overcoming barriers for indigenous cleantech actors in research–finance–industry pipeline
The roundtable will offer a collaborative platform to explore practical solutions and future opportunities for strengthening and accelerating Central and Eastern Europe’s cleantech ecosystem. It will open with a presentation of key insights from the Cleantech for CEE Report, highlighting areas for opportunities and improvements such as the need for stronger collaboration between research, startups, and industry; more supportive conditions for entrepreneurs; better alignment of workforce skills with innovation demands; and enhanced access to early-stage funding.
This roundtable will offer space for an open discussion on how various actors can support innovation in the CEE region.
3 - Sustainability Communication: Sustainability & Competitiveness - Finding the Balance

This closed-door session will explore strategies, real-world examples, and compelling narratives that demonstrate how businesses can successfully integrate sustainability into their communication. With a focus on ensuring transparency, navigating the greenwashing minefield, and avoiding the greenhushing trap, this session will provide insights on how to maintain a competitive edge in a rapidly changing market.
